Cutting cost of operation is a great concern for all owners and fleet managers. ISUZU helps the owners and the fleet managers to find basic ideas for choosing trucks. A key of success to cut the fuel consumption is to use the fuel-efficient truck in your operation. ISUZU recommends everyone to choose the fuel-efficient truck from the below viewpoints.
1. Whether, or not, trucks are well-designed and the best-balanced truck
Finding the best trucks including the fuel-efficient trucks always takes long time as there are plenty of truck models available in the market. The owner or fleet manager needs to study truck chassis, engine, transmission, final drive, tires, etc. which should be the ideal design and combination.
ISUZU offers the trucks “Made for Africa” which are well-designed and the best-balanced trucks for Africa.
Please contact your local ISUZU dealer for further detail.
2. Whether, or not, trucks are in the right GVW/GCW range
A choose of right GVW/GCW range of truck according to your loading requirement is the most essential part to transport your goods in an efficient manner.
An overloading is not recommended from a viewpoint of fuel-efficiency because the truck engine may be required to run at high engine RPM for the most of running time. A smaller GVW/GCW range of truck may also be recommended for the fuel-efficiency if the truck always carries lighter goods within the permitted GVW/GCW, because the smaller GVW/GCW truck chassis is lighter than the higher GVW/GCW truck chassis in principle.
ISUZU offers various and wide range of trucks from GVW3.1 tons to GVW41.0 tons and GCW42.0 tons to GCW60.0 tons.
Please see the Spec Sheet for more details.

3. Whether, or not, trucks and rear-bodies are designed by an aerodynamic principle to minimize drag resistance
The air resistance is proportional to the square of the speed, and when the speed is increased from 40km/h to 80km/h, it jumps about four times.
The theory of aerodynamic in a truck is to reduce the Coefficient of Drag (“CD”) enhancing the aerodynamic shape of both truck and rear-body. An improvement of the CD is effective especially for trucks with a high rate of high-speed driving and trucks with higher cruising speed.
ISUZU trucks are therefore designed with a cabin following the aerodynamic principle to minimize the drag resistance. The ISUZU’s aerodynamic design philosophy can be found anywhere in the cabin such as corner vanes, blister fenders, an air dam bumper, roof panel pattern, etc.

An air-deflector and a gap-shield are most effective aerodynamic accessories for van-type trucks with a higher body height than the cabin and trucks with a wider body than the cabin.
Please contact your local ISUZU dealer for further details and availability of the air-deflector and the gap-shield.
